Pre-Sales Consultant

About the Job

The Pre-Sales Consultant partners closely with the sales organization, bringing supply chain domain expertise and deep product knowledge to every pre-sales engagement to win deals and ensure customer success.

This is not a support role. You will lead discovery and solutioning throughout the sales pursuit — uncovering customer pain, connecting it to business impact, and architecting the right mix of ketteQ agents and solutions to address it. You make the customer's problem real, urgent, and solvable.

This hands-on role blends deep supply chain planning expertise with technical solution design, value engineering, and commercial instinct. You will shape how prospects experience ketteQ and play a critical role in winning new business.

Duties & Responsibilities

Discovery & Solution Leadership

  • Lead discovery — running workshops, asking the hard questions, and uncovering planning challenges, process gaps, and decision-making breakdowns across demand, supply, inventory, and S&OP.
  • Connect operational symptoms to financial impact, making the cost of inaction clear to economic buyers, champions, and technical evaluators.
  • Map pain points to the right ketteQ solutions and planning agents, designing architectures that show how ketteQ integrates with a prospect's existing APS and ERP environment.
  • Qualify prospects against ketteQ's capabilities, driving MEDDPICC deal qualification and progression at every stage.

Pre-Sales & Solution Selling

  • Partner with the sales team on qualified opportunities, leading solution demos, proof-of-value engagements, and technical deep dives with prospective customers.
  • Identify customer needs, key stakeholders, and the economic buyer.
  • Build and deliver custom demos using customer data that address their most urgent planning challenges, configuring planning agents and scenarios to show measurable impact.
  • Create and deliver supplementary presentation materials — solution architectures, value frameworks, competitive comparisons — in support of customer-specific demonstrations.
  • Contribute to RFP/RFI responses with clear, compelling articulation of ketteQ's differentiated approach.
  • Follow the sales process, completing key deliverables at each stage.

Continuous Improvement

  • Feed product gaps and field-driven improvement ideas back to product management and engineering.
  • Contribute to the development of solution templates, demo environments, best practices, and delivery accelerators.
  • Stay current on supply chain planning trends, competitive landscape, and evolving customer expectations.

Requirements

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise pre-sales or solutions consulting, with domain expertise in supply chain planning across manufacturing, CPG, high-tech, industrial, or distribution.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more APS/planning platforms (SAP IBP, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, o9, Anaplan, Oracle, Logility, or similar).
  • Experience with MEDDPICC or a comparable enterprise sales qualification methodology — you understand how to map technical value to business outcomes, identify and implicate pain, and support a structured sales process.
  • Proven ability to build business cases, ROI models, and value assessments that connect solution capabilities to measurable financial and operational outcomes.
  • Strong working knowledge of AI technologies and how intelligent agents are transforming enterprise workflows.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain planning processes, data flows, and KPIs across manufacturing, distribution, or service environments.
  • Technical aptitude — comfortable working with data, SQL, and configuration tools. Python experience is a plus.
  • Technically curious — you tinker, experiment, and dig into how things work rather than waiting for a demo script.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills — you can explain agent-driven planning to a VP of Supply Chain and a data engineer in the same afternoon.
  • Adaptable with strong initiative. Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment where processes are evolving and your input shapes them.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, partner locations, and industry events as needed (approximately 30%).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

What Sets You Apart

  • You've lived through the limitations of legacy planning systems and you're energized by a fundamentally different approach.
  • You are obsessed with customer pain. You don't demo features — you diagnose problems, make the cost of those problems impossible to ignore, and then show how ketteQ solves them.
  • You think in outcomes, not features — measuring success by the decisions your customers make and the value they capture.
  • You thrive in a dynamic startup environment. ketteQ is scaling fast, and you'll help define processes as much as follow them.
  • You're a tinkerer — the person who spins up a new demo scenario on a Friday because you had an idea, always curious about new tools and new ways to use AI.
  • You have a builder's mindset — you want to shape how an emerging category leader sells and proves value.
