Today, we are launching Quintus™, the only Free-Range AI™ for the supply chain, and I want to explain what it is and why you should care.

Software engineering had its moment when Claude and ChatGPT arrived. So did customer support. So did marketing content. Each function got direct, unscripted access to AI that could reason instead of following a script, and the way people work changed within months.

Supply chain has not had that moment... until now. Introducing Quintus™.

Here is what it looks like in practice. A planner can ask Quintus™ a question the same way you would ask ChatGPT or Claude to draft something or debug code: “If our supplier’s plant in Vietnam goes down for two weeks, which customer commitments are at risk?” And get a fully reasoned answer in seconds, built on the live state of your supply chain, not a report someone ran yesterday.

It does not stop with planners. A CFO can ask what a disruption means for revenue at risk. A sales rep can ask whether a customer commitment is still safe before they promise a ship date. Same access, from email, Microsoft Teams, Slack, or wherever your team already works.

I hear about customer meetings now where the response to a disruption is just “ask Quintus™” or “Quintus™ can figure it out.” That is not a slogan. That is what happens when people get direct access to reasoning AI instead of a scripted dashboard. Quintus™ does not advise. It acts. And you do not have to rip out a single system to get it.

The obvious question is whether an AI that acts, not just advises, is safe. It is, because Quintus™ is Fully Governed by design. Every decision it makes is auditable, explainable, and subject to human override. A scripted AI that cannot answer the question you are actually asking during a real disruption is not a safe AI. It is a useless one. Real safety is an AI that reasons through any scenario with full audit and full human control built into the foundation, not bolted on after the fact.

Here is why most vendors cannot do this. The major supply chain planning platforms were built in the 1990s and 2000s, and the AI being added to them today is a sidecar, not built into the foundation. We made a different bet back in 2019: build the open architecture first and let that openness be what made it AI-native as the technology matured. That is the difference between an AI that can only report on what it already computed, and one that reasons live, in seconds, over anything you ask it.

That last part matters more than it sounds. Quintus™ deploys above whatever you are already running, SAP, Kinaxis, o9, Blue Yonder, or your own mix, in four to eight weeks. No migration project. No multi-year implementation. Your existing systems stay exactly where they are, and Quintus™ sits on top, reasoning across all of it. If you have ever sat through a vendor conversation that started with a two-year re-platforming plan, this is built to be the opposite of that.

This is not a preview of something coming later. Quintus™ is running live in production today, across a growing list of companies in different industries, including Alliance Consumer Group, JCI, Mativ, NCR, and Zeus, with more going live over the next several months. At Alliance Consumer Group, inventory turns improved from 2.75 to 4.0, with real-time available-to-promise answers delivered inside Salesforce in seconds, live, on sales calls.

If you lead a supply chain team or, you’re a member of a team that must know what happens when a disruption hits, reading about the transformational power of Quintus and Free-Range AI only goes so far. To truly understand what Quintus™ can do for your organization, you need to see it live. We invite you to schedule an unscripted Quintus™ demo and ask it anything, the same way our customers already do.
